Qbo Coffee in Munich – to be enjoyed as it should
Friday, 25 November. Only four weeks to go until Christmas! Munich, however, is in a festive mood even today. At 10 a.m., the first Qbo shop in southern Germany opened in the Oberpollinger department store, with lots of nice Qbo products on offer.
But, naturally, before coffee was going to be enjoyed in the 80 sq m shop, over the past few days a lot of construction work, painting, shifting of furniture and all that kind of stuff still had to be done. And not all was going according to plan, e.g. because of a Lufthansa strike having delayed deliveries, so much improvisation was called for, too. One of those much affected was Nadine Freis, who manages all Qbo shops in Germany, coordinating IT and technical installations, HR and all communications. “Of course, before a shop opens there is always a lot to do,” she says, “but we also wanted to be done before Christmas.”
The Qbo Shop Concept
Responsible for the Qbo shops’ design is Dr. Wolfgang Merkle. With his store-fitting concept, he has come up with a perfect presentation of the Qbo brand, combining the timelessly elegant design of the Qbo machine with the pure pleasure coffee is able to evoke, as Merkle puts it. He uses an edgy, reduced design, a cheerful environment, video screens and cubic lamps, contrasting with natural materials like open-pored wood in a warm oaky shade, which creates a feel-good atmosphere that will make you want a cup of Baba Budan right away.
In our new shop in the Oberpollinger department store, the first 50 customers get something extra special: a Qbo machine including the milk module and 80 coffee capsules for only €249. This will save them €100 on our normal price. And they can taste all Qbo varieties into the bargain!
We are very proud of our new shop in Munich and will now take a short break before next year we will develop more towns and locations. And we will probably have a nice cup of coffee in the Oberpollinger, too! Why don’t you visit us soon?!
