App & Wi-Fi

  • You can send your recipe to any freely accessible machine that's connected to the Wi-Fi, whether you're visiting friends, at work or in Qbo stores. If you know the Wi-Fi name and password and are connected to the same Wi-Fi as the machine, you'll never need to go without your favorite coffee again.
  • You can connect as many machines as you like with the Wi-Fi using your smartphone. You are then the owner of each of the machines and will find them listed in your telephone. The connection process is the same for all machines.
  • If you activate Maschine Update, you'll make sure your machine is always up-to-date. Every time it powers down, the machine checks whether new firmware versions are available. If they are, the update downloads them and installs them automatically. Previously, the coffee machine would have been called 2.0. But now it's the terminology that's long been in need of an update.
  • If you activate the function "Cloud communication", you receive services that are tailored just for you. For example, individualized customer support based on your machine information, surprises and tips in the Qbo World. Your usage data are sent to our Cloud for processing.
  • To switch off the Wi-Fi on your YOU-RISTA, you need to follow these steps:
    1. Switch on your YOU-RISTA.
    2. Call up the settings menu by pressing the settings menu key.
    3. Scroll down to Wi-Fi in the menu (the heading will show you clearly whether the Wi-Fi is currently on or off).
    4. Select "Select Wi-Fi options" and confirm with the rotary knob.
    5. Select "Turn off Wi-Fi" and confirm with the rotary knob.

  • Luckily, no. Your recipes are safe on the App, even if you restore the factory settings on your Qbo Machine. You can then load them from the App back onto the machine.
  • The Qbo App is available for iOS smartphones and Android smartphones. Tablet versions are currently not yet supported. With iOS, all iPhones from generation 5 with iOS version 10.0 and upwards are supported. For Android, all versions from Android 4.4 and upwards are supported. 
  • It is possible only to produce hot milk. But because the milk is heated up with hot steam, hot milk will always have a little crown of froth 
  • Unfortunately, even our MILK MASTER is bound by the laws of physics: For hot milk froth, the milk is heated up with hot steam and frothed up at the same time. It is not possible to produce 100% froth, as a little milk will always settle out. But our MILK MASTER does manage to transform 70% of the milk into a creamy froth.
  • If, as the owner of the machine, you have deleted the recipes preset on the machine, you can recover these at any time using the Qbo App. To do this, in the App go to the machine tab and then to recipe settings. You'll find the option at the end of the list of recipes.
  • On the overview page of all your recipes, click on the list icon in the upper right corner. You'll enter the edit mode. There you can delete one recipe after another or change their order.
  • If you click on a recipe, you'll enter edit mode, where you can keep on refining your recipes.
  • No, Bluetooth connection is not possible.
  • In the app, click on the machine tab and you'll see a list of all the machines with which you are connected. Now just select the machine that you are currently using or for which you'd like to edit the settings.
  • You can delete a machine from the Qbo App by swiping over the machine within the machine overview page in the App. Note: In this case the Wi-Fi information and drinks saved to the Qbo Machine will not be deleted. To delete this information, the machine must be reset to its factory settings.

  • There are two possibilities

    1. If you would like to give or have given the machine to a new owner, we recommend that you restore the factory settings on the machine. This deletes the user rights, the associated Wi-Fi information and all your personal settings. To do this, go into the settings menu on the machine and carry out this function.
    2. If the Wi-Fi in your home has changed, the owner of the machine can resend the information. There is no direct function for this in the app, because, after all, the Wi-Fi no longer exists and the app and machine can no longer communicate with each other via the Wi-Fi router. But after the machine has tried three times unsuccessfully to connect with the Wi-Fi it knows, it automatically reverts to Hotspot mode. Only the owner of the machine can then run a set-up with the new Wi-Fi data. That is to say, when the machine is switched on, select Qbo in the Wi-Fi settings of the smartphone, then go back into the app and finish the set-up process.

  • There is no direct function for this in the app, because, after all, the Wi-Fi no longer exists and the app and machine can no longer communicate with each other via the Wi-Fi router. But after the machine has tried three times unsuccessfully to connect with the Wi-Fi it knows, it automatically reverts to Hotspot mode. Only the owner of the machine can then run a set-up with the new password.
    That is to say, when the machine is switched on, select Qbo in the Wi-Fi settings of the smartphone, then go back into the app and finish the set-up process.
  • 1. If the blue Wi-Fi monitoring light is on continuously, your Qbo Machine is connected to the Wi-Fi.
    2. If the blue Wi-Fi display is flashing, your machine is not yet connected to the Wi-Fi; it is in "Hotspot" mode. In this mode, the machine is ready to receive Wi-Fi information. You'll need the Qbo App for iOS or Android to set up Wi-Fi on the machine.
    3. If you can't connect your Qbo Machine with the Wi-Fi, go into the settings menu on the Qbo Machine and, in the Wi-Fi settings, select the option "Turn off Wi-Fi".

  • To prepare an individual drink via Alexa, the manager of the Qbo Machine has to create that drink in the Qbo App. To do so, he has to be logged in with his Qbo Profile and give an individual drink one of the names listed below. Then you can brew the recipe via Alexa by asking for the drink name. For example: "Alexa, start Qbo and make me an Energy Boost".
     
    Individual drinks:
    Lieblingskaffee, Wunschkaffee, Morgenkaffee, Wachmacher, Muntermacher, My Favorite, My Dear, Wake Up, Wake Up, Energy Boost
  • This can have several reasons.


    1) The Alexa voice control function is not activated. To control your Qbo Machine with Amazon Alexa, you not only need to enable the Qbo Skill, but also allow Alexa voice control for your Qbo Machine. The manager of the machine can do that with the following steps: Open the Qbo App > Open the machine tab > Select the machine > Open settings > Enable Remote/Timed Brew > Enable Alexa Voice Control. Note: To enable Alexa Voice Control, you must first enable the Remote/Timed Brew function.

    2) Your Qbo Machine is not connected to Wi-Fi or has no Internet. You can see the current WLAN status of your machine as follows: Open the settings menu on your Qbo Machine, right button of the control panel > Select the WLAN menu > Select "WLAN Diagnosis". Here  you see how to connect your machine to the Wi-Fi.

    3) Your Qbo Skill is already paired with another Qbo Machine. You can pair a new machine with your Qbo Skill by setting up the Qbo Skill with this machine. Make sure the new machine is connected to the Qbo Profile you use when setting up the Qbo Skill.

    4) Your internet connection is unstable. Is your machine for example far away from the router? Make sure your machine receives a strong Wi-Fi signal.

Warranty & repair

  • Naturally, we hope that you won't need any spare parts for your YOU-RISTA or your MILK MASTER. But if you do, you can order them very easily from our Qbo Customer Service by e-mail or by telephone.

  • The warranty is valid for 24 months from purchase date and covers the YOU-RISTA, the MILK MASTER, our range of accessories and our care products. The warranty on the Qbo Cubes applies until the expiry of the use-by date, which is printed on every pack.
  • The warranty does not cover:
    1. Damage caused by improper use that is not in line with the operating instructions.
    2. Mechanical damage, including transport damage caused by inadequate packing by the customer.
    3. Damage after modifications or unauthorized repairs to the item.
    4. Damage caused by lack of cleaning or descaling.

  • If, against all expectations, defects occur, please contact our Qbo Customer Service in the first place. Our colleagues there will be happy to help and will sort out with you what to do next. If you need to send your machine to us, you can hand over the faulty item, carefully packed, in any Qbo Store or send it to our Repair Center. You can also obtain the return slip for this from our colleagues at Qbo Customer Service.
    To make sure that the fault can be dealt with quickly, you should enclose a copy of your purchase receipt plus a short description of the fault and a note of the item number.   • You can send your Qbo Machine to be repaired free of charge any time in Qbo Stores or using the dispatch form that you can obtain from our colleagues at Qbo Customer Service. Your warranty claim without invoice or proof of purchase will then be checked in our Repair Center. You can obtain further information from our colleagues at Qbo Customer Service.

    To make sure that the fault can be dealt with quickly, you should enclose a copy of your purchase receipt plus a short description of the fault and a note of the item number.   • We pay all the transport costs for a repair within the warranty, of course, both for returning your Qbo Machine to us and for sending it back to you.
  • You can send your Qbo Machine to be repaired free of charge any time in Qbo Stores or using the dispatch form that you can obtain from our colleagues at Qbo Customer Service. Your warranty claim will then be checked in our Repair Center. If the repair is not covered by the warranty, we will send you a quotation for the costs of the repair including costs of sending it back to you. If you decide not to go ahead with the repair, you will pay any handling and transport costs already incurred. Recycling the appliance in the Repair Center is free of charge.

  • Yes, if the purchase date is less than 24 months before. Please enclose a copy of your proof of purchase when you send us your item to be repaired. Our colleagues at the Repair Center will then check that you have a claim under the warranty.
  • If your warranty claim has been rejected after being checked by our Repair Center, it could be for one of two reasons. Either you bought it more than 24 months ago, or there is some degree of personal negligence involved. Our colleagues from the Repair Center will inform you of the precise reasons once they have checked the situation and send you a quotation of the costs of the repair required. On the basis of that, you can decide between the following options:
    1. Repair at your own expense, i.e. you pay the costs shown in the quotation.
    2. Return of the item without repair. You pay the costs of handling and return transport.
    3. Disposal of the item free of charge.

  • You'll find the serial number of your YOU-RISTA on the machine. Go into the settings menu of your YOU-RISTA and select the menu item Machine Info. You'll also find the name of your YOU-RISTA, your current firmware version and the Mac address.

  • On the rating plate on the basis of the MILK MASTER's motor unit.

  • You should always send the YOU-RISTA and the MILK MASTER in together so that the entire system can be thoroughly inspected. This is the only way we can ensure that we have repaired the fault properly.

Drinks preperation

  • You can adjust the quantity proportions of coffee, milk and froth in any standard drink or any recipe you've created yourself really easily in the Qbo App, and save them, send them to your Qbo Machine again and also save them there.

    You can prepare all the drinks saved on the machine without the Qbo App. During preparation, you can adjust the quantity of coffee and milk. This does not affect the proportions of milk and froth saved in the recipe, or change the quantity of coffee or milk saved in the recipe.
  • To save a recipe on the machine, you must be in the same Wi-Fi as the machine. As soon as the machine is set up and turned on, you can click on the button "Save" in the drinks overview page.
  • To delete a recipe on the machine, you have to be in the same Wi-Fi as the machine. As soon as the machine is set up and turned on, you can save or delete your own personal recipes on the machine under "Drinks" in the machine detail page.
  • Every Qbo Capsule contains a massive 7.5 g coffee. We have already preset the best cup sizes in each case: 40 ml for your espresso. 125 ml for your caffè. This is what our coffee experts recommend. If you would rather have milder or stronger coffee, or you'd prefer a large cup in the morning so you can wake up properly, it's not a problem. You can set the size and thus the strength of your coffee anywhere between 20 and 280 ml.
  • The temperature indictor on your MILK MASTER shows you whether the milk you have added is cold enough to prepare froth of the best possible quality. For creamy cold and hot froth, the milk you use should be colder than 7° C. This is the case if the right-hand part of the temperature indicator is the same color as the left.

  • There are two possible ways of restoring recipes on the You-Rista.
    1. By resetting the machine to factory settings. You will find this option as the last entry in the settings menu. Watch out: If you do this, your Wi-Fi information and other settings will be completely deleted from the machine.
    2. If you have set up your machine with Wi-Fi, you can use the Qbo App to go to the "Drinks" in your machine's detail view. At the end of the list of recipes on the machine, you'll find the entry "Restore standard drinks".
  • A place for everything and everything in its place! To move a recipe on the machine, you need to be in the same Wi-Fi as the machine. In the Qbo App on the machine detail page under "Drinks", you can then create or delete your personal recipes or sort them into the order you want. To do this, press on Edit on the top right and arrange the recipes in the required order.

  • We've achieved the best results with 1.5% UHT milk (low-fat UHT).
  • Today is one of those days when you need an extra strong version of your favorite coffee? With Qbo – no problem. Simply turn the rotary knob counter clockwise during coffee preparation to reduce the amount of water. Prepared as a Ristretto with 25ml water, what is already our strongest coffee – Baba Budan – turns into an insider tip for your kick-start in the morning. This also works the other way around. By turning the rotary knob clockwise your coffee becomes longer and slightly less strong. Without losing its excellent flavor, of course.

    Note: In order to save the setting for the amount of water permanently on your machine, create a new drink in the Qbo App and save it on your machine. Simply go to the Qbo App settings of your machine and add your drink under "Drinks".

  • You can adjust the length of the coffee during preparation, which is to say, you can make your coffee using more or less water. To do this, simply turn the rotary knob to the left (less water) or right (more water) during brewing. This does not change the amount of coffee originally stored in the recipe. You can adapt the quantity proportions in a recipe at any time using the Qbo App and save it to your Qbo Machine again.

  • You can adjust the quantity of milk during preparation, which is to say, you can make your frothy dream of a drink with more or less milk. To do this, simply turn the rotary knob to the left (less milk) or right (more milk) as the milk is being added. This does not change the amount of milk originally stored in the recipe. You can adapt the quantity proportions in a recipe at any time using the Qbo App and save it to your Qbo Machine again.

  • Please check the following points:

    Is the machine prepared?
    Has the timed drink been deleted from the machine?
    Was the machine busy at that precise moment (e.g. brewing coffee or descaling)?

  • If the machine is not prepared at the planned time, for example, no capsules were inserted, the water tank is empty or the capsule collector is full, brewing is simply not started. If you have prepared the machine, but not inserted a cup, or inserted a cup that is too small, the machine will also stop as soon as the drip tray is full. So nothing can happen then either.

  • If you click in the app on "Send" and the drink is just sent to the machine without the machine starting to brew the drink, this could be due to one of two causes: Either the "Remote and Timed Brew" function is not activated for the selected machine -  these instructions tell you how to activate it: instructions Timed Brew. Or the machine has not been prepared - make sure that a capsule has been inserted, that there is enough water available, the capsule collector is not full, the drip tray is inserted and not full and the lever is closed.

  • The timed brew only functions if the machine can also determine the time via the internet. So if you receive an error message in the app saying that the machine is not accepting any timed brews because the time is being checked, try again in about a minute. If it still continues not to function, please check the settings on your Wi-Fi router to see whether the "NTP query" is explicitly deactivated.

Coffee & Capsules

  • Yes, there is now a full-bodied, harmonious espresso containing absolutely no caffeine – Qbo Espresso Decaf. You'll find more information about Qbo Espresso Decaf here.
  • No need. With the Qbo App, you can define your own personal ideal mixture of milk and milk foam and then use the MILK MASTER to prepare a creamy hot chocolate.

  • Our Qbo Cubes are made from high-quality plastic, contain no aluminum and are 100% recyclable. So when you dispose of them, you don't have to sort them into various waste types. In Germany, you can simply throw them into the recycling bin – preferably in the Qbo recycling bag. Only after you've used them, of course. In Austria, you bring the capsules back to the Qbo Stores using the Qbo recycling bag.

  • If you look inside our Cubes, all you'll find is really good coffee. No sieves, no foils, no bells and whistles. The unique construction of our cubes is not only the basis for our unique PressBrew process; it also allows us to use far less material than other capsule systems.
  • PressBrew means brewing the coffee just like a barista does, i.e. pressing it down so that the water can flow evenly through the coffee to allow all the aromas to develop fully. Qbo took this specific principle as its model when it patented the Qbo PressBrew process. We press down on the coffee slightly during preparation. That means that every machine contains not only a Qbo Cube, but also a little barista. Here you can find more information about our system and PressBrew.

Sustainability & recycling

  • Yes. We actually think that everyone enjoys coffee much more if it comes 100% from certified farms, which in this case means complying with the standards of the Rainforest Alliance. You can read what exactly that means and how it affects your coffee enjoyment by clicking here.
  • Qbo Cubes are made from high-quality plastic, contain no aluminum and are 100% recyclable .
    If you live in Germany, you can collect the Qbo Cubes in the Qbo Bag and just dispose of them in the Yellow Sack – in this way, they can be recycled. Naturally, you can also dispose of the Qbo Cubes without the Qbo Bag using the Yellow Sack. However, because they are so small and space-saving, we cannot guarantee that they will be completely recycled if this is what you go for.

    Do you live in Austria? Then you can collect your Qbo Cubes in the Qbo collection bag and take them back to the Qbo Stores in Vienna and Linz (from June). Along with our recycling partners, we'll sort out complete recycling. The coffee sediment is separated from the plastic in the individual capsules. The plastic is recycled and processed for use in new products, e.g. for your Qbo collection bag. The coffee sediment is composted and thus returned to nature.

  • Biodegradable capsules are currently not a viable solution. The capsules cannot be composted on a compost heap at home, and even in the organic waste container, they will still be sorted out for energy recycling. And unfortunately, that's much worse than recycling the capsules using the recycling bin. Click here to see what we're doing in the area of sustainability.

    Qbo offers the best coffee enjoyment and makes you feel good. This includes, of course, actively looking after people and the environment in all three areas: the coffee, the cubes and the machine.
    Coffee: Every Qbo Cube contains 100% sustainable coffee from certified farms, which in this case means complying with the standards of the Rainforest Alliance. In addition, we support coffee growers, their families and communities in our coffee growing areas and invest in important social and environmental projects such as the "Teens Project" in Guatemala.  
    Qbo Cubes: They are made 100% from recyclable plastic and contain no aluminum. Because of their small, compact shape, we can cut packaging material by up to 85%. Working with our recycling partners, we can ensure complete reuse of the plastic.

  • You can dispose of the cardboard packaging from your Qbo Cubes quite simply with the rest of your old paper in the paper recycling containers.
    You can also recycle the cardboard packaging from your machine with your old paper in your paper recycling containers. Before you do this, please remove the black foamed plastic elements from the corrugated cardboard and dispose of them in your plastics recycling bag or bin. The individual pieces such as the bag, plastic films and stickers should also be disposed of in the plastics recycling bag or bin.
    You can recycle the cardboard packaging from the accessories as old paper in the paper recycling containers. Please throw any plastic parts such as the bag, films and stickers into your plastics recycling bag or bin.
    The paperboard from our machine care products can be recycled in paper recycling containers. The plastic trays need to go in the plastics recycling bag or bin.

Care

  • Your favorite coffee should always taste like your favorite coffee. With this in mind, we've developed an integrated three-step care concept for your Qbo Machine. It's based on the routines adopted by professional baristas.
    Step 1: Rinsing
    Rinsing with clear water removes coffee residues and left-over water from the pipes and the coffee and milk spouts. This is the first step towards retaining the flavor of your favorite coffee. You should rinse your You-Rista every time before you prepare coffee and the Milk Master every time after you prepare milk.
    Step 2: Cleaning
    The specially developed Qbo cleaning capsules remove fatty coffee residues from the brewing chamber and the coffee spout of your Qbo Machine. These build up over time and can't be removed just by rinsing with clear water; instead, they need the special detergent contained in the Qbo cleaning capsules. This is really important to  maintain the authentic coffee flavor.
    Step 3: Descaling
    Descaling removes limescale deposits. These build up in your Qbo Machine over time. Descaling will prolong the life of your machine and ensure that you can always enjoy your coffee at the right temperature. You should descale around once or twice a year; your You-Rista will notify you in good time.

     

  • Not all coffee machines are the same. That's why we perfectly matched the composition of active ingredients in the Qbo Descaling Tablets to the Qbo Machine. To ensure your machine lasts as long as possible, we recommend that you use the tablets developed by us.

  • The secret of our coffees lies in the capsules. And that applies for the cleaning capsules too. They have been specially developed by us for use in your Qbo Machine and they make sure that every coffee tastes just as good as it should do. There is no comparable product that you can use to carry out the cleaning of your Qbo Machine. 

  • It's best to ask your Qbo Machine. The optimum frequency will depend on the number of cups of coffee you've drunk. Your Qbo Machine will give you a friendly reminder, on its display or by a push notification via the Qbo App, when it wants to be cleaned. It will be every 1 to 2 months.
  • It's best to ask your Qbo Machine. The precise rhythm will depend on the hardness of the water where you are. You can always check the water hardness you've set in the settings menu of your Qbo Machine and change it if necessary. Your Qbo Machine will give you a friendly reminder, on its display or by a push notification via the Qbo App, when it wants to be descaled. It will probably be around once or twice a year.

  • Your Qbo Machine rinses automatically every time you turn it on to remove any coffee residues. You can deactivate – and reactivate, of course – this automatic rinse in the settings menu under "Rinsing".
    If you have already inserted a Qbo Cube before rinsing starts, it will be cancelled.
    Tip: You can rinse your Qbo Machine any time by selecting "Heat your cup" in the settings menu. This will also rinse the spout with clear water.
  • For complete hygiene and to remove milk residues from the Milk Master quickly, you should rinse it before you store it in the fridge. Your Qbo Machine will remind you automatically. For rinsing, the milk can stay within the milk carafe.
    Note: With the firmware version 1.22 we introduced an optimized rinsing programme. With regular rinsing , you only need to clean the Milk Master every 3 to 4 days.

  • Delicious milky coffees come at a price: You should clean your Milk Master by hand every 3 to 4 days when you've used it. This manual cleaning must be carried out in addition to the normal rinse after adding milk. This is the best way to maintain the high quality of your milk froth and extend the working life of your Milk Master.

  • Your YOU-RISTA provides you with delicious coffee specialties. In return, it also asks you for a little bit of TLC: Only the drip tray and grille can be cleaned in the dishwasher. All the other parts of your YOU-RISTA must be cleaned by hand, since they are not dishwasher-safe.
    This is how to keep the water tank, capsule collector and small cup rest clean:
    1. Pull the parts out of the YOU-RISTA.
    2. Wash all the parts using a mild detergent.
    3. Dry them well and place them back in the YOU-RISTA.
    How to clean the housing:
    1. Wipe the housing with a soft, damp cloth.
    2. If necessary, also wipe the compartment for the drip tray out with a soft, damp cloth.

  • All the parts of your MILK MASTER, except for the motor element and the milk carafe, are dishwasher-safe. Clean the motor element and milk carafe under running water using a mild detergent and dry it well.

  • Your Qbo Machine rinses automatically every time you turn it on to remove any coffee residues. You can deactivate – and reactivate, of course – this automatic rinse in the settings menu under "Rinse".

    If you have already inserted a Qbo Cube before rinsing starts, it will be cancelled.
    Tip: You can rinse your Qbo Machine any time by selecting "Warm cup" in the settings menu. This will also rinse the spout with clear water.

Qbo profile

  • You can use the Qbo App with and without a profile. If you own a Qbo Machine, we recommend that you draw up a Qbo Profile. This will give you access to more app functions and you'll be able to enjoy lots of extra advantages.

  • To open a Qbo Profile in the app, you'll need a valid e-mail address and a password, and you'll also need to agree to the Terms and Conditions in the app. After entering your data, you'll receive an e-mail with a link to confirm your e-mail address. After you've successfully confirmed it, your Qbo Profile is activated. After this, you can connect the Qbo Profile to your Qbo Machine and activate Cloud Communication, and soon you'll be getting even more out of the Qbo App.

    You are using a Qbo Machine in a multiperson household or with your friends? A Qbo Profile can be used with multiple smartphones. This way you can profit from the Qbo advantages as a community.

  • Every coffee that runs through your Qbo machine brings you closer to your next desired reward. For every 10th coffee you receive 1 point and with 25 points you can redeem your first reward.

  • Your points (and rewards) will remain in your profile even after you have deregistered. You'll be able to see them again next time you log into your profile.
  • Are you sure you want to delete your profile? To do this, you need to log in one last time using the App. In the settings, you'll find the menu item "Delete profile". All the information, such as your profile picture, profile name, your machines, your recipes and your Qbo World points will be deleted immediately and irrevocably from our database. If you ever regret your decision, you'll always be welcome to come back to Qbo, of course.

  • You can reset your password from the Qbo App. In your profile, go to "Reset password". We'll then send you a link by mail so that you can simply create a new password – perhaps one you can remember really easily. Such as 2BabaBudanplease.

  • Click on the profile picture to change it or add a new one. You have two options: Select a photo from your smartphone or take a new photo. With this option, the camera starts up automatically – so then you just need to smile and say 'coffeeeeeee'.

  • All the data from the Qbo App and Qbo World will disappear completely after you delete your Qbo Profile. The data for logging into the online shop run by Tchibo, our official distribution partner, are not affected by the deletion of the Qbo Profile. If you also want to delete your customer profile here, please contact Tchibo Customer Service.

  • No, these are two different logins. Tchibo is our official distribution partner. Online orders from Tchibo need to be processed via the Tchibo customer account or as a guest order.
  • You can trigger the confirmation mail again in the Qbo App profile settings. To do this, click on "Send again". As a precaution, check that the e-mail address has been spelled properly. Or maybe our e-mail has just been gobbled up by your spam folder.

  • You can change your login data any time in the Qbo App profile settings. When you have entered your new e-mail address, we'll send you an e-mail, which you then confirm via a link. And that's it.
  • We only ever use your data to make good coffee. They are actually only used for the stated purposes, so that we can tailor our products to suit the desires and needs of our customers in the best possible way.
    Qbo will always ask for your permission whenever it collects your data. The data collected are not forwarded to unauthorized persons. You can see which data are collected and what they are used for in the Data Protection Regulations and Conditions of Use in the App and on our website
  • We only store the data we need to provide our services. We always tell you when we are collecting data. For example, we store your e-mail address with your login password encrypted. In addition, we back up information about the drinks you have prepared and machine care you have carried out. Recipes and machine information such as your firmware version are also saved as soon as you create a profile. Location data are not recorded or saved, only locally in the App when you use the map. These data are also not forwarded to Qbo.

  • Alongside app functions such as "Bring my coffee" service, the Qbo rewards catalogue and the "Recommend Qbo" program you'll also be able to access the machine management, brewing activities, machine statistics, campaigns, offers and vouchers.
    By sharing your user data with us, you allow us to fulfill your personal needs and preferences, to share individually tailored offers with you and to offer you fast, relevant service, whether it's to do with how to operate and maintain your Qbo Machine more easily or sending an error code if you have a problem so that we can guarantee fast, personal product servicing.
  • All rewards and the amount of points needed for each reward can be reviewed in the reward catalogue in your Qbo profile.
  • In the rewards catalogue you can see how many points you need to redeem a reward and how many more points you need to earn to redeem each reward. Rewards can be redeemed starting at 25 points.
  • "Recommend Qbo" provides you with the opportunity to share good taste. If you know someone who would also enjoy the finest barista-quality coffee, then recommend Qbo to him or her. If your recommendation is successful, you'll both receive a thank-you gift. You can read how our recommendation program works here.

  • You'll need the Qbo App, a Qbo Profile and a Qbo Machine connected to Wi-Fi and allowing Cloud Communication

  • You can recommend as many people as you like, but not yourself, unfortunately, if you have several Qbo Profiles, for example, and recommend one or more of these Qbo Profiles
  • You cannot be recommended more than once; you can only be recommended once per Qbo Profile and Qbo Machine
  • Qbo Machines that are used within a "Rent not buy" scheme, that you won in competitions and prize draws or that are test machines cannot be used to accept a voucher. Naturally, you can use a machine of this type to send a Qbo Recommendation as part of the "Recommend Qbo" program

  • The thank-you voucher can be redeemed once at www.tchibo.de/www.tchibo.at for Qbo Capsules in connection with a Qbo Order. It cannot be exchanged for cash. The vouchers are valid for a limited time, and you will find the expiry date on the voucher itself.
  • In the app, you can follow the accumulation of your points in real time and see what percentage until the next point earned is already achieved.
  • Even if you have bought a new Qbo Machine or have received your Qbo Machine back from being repaired, you can continue to collect points. Your points won't get lost – they are saved directly to your personal profile in the app and so are not tied to any particular machine.

Technical & help

  • Check the following:
    1. Is the machine switched on?
    2. Is the machine connected to the Wi-Fi? Is the blue Wi-Fi-icon next to the display lit up blue continuously?
    3. Is the machine connected to the same Wi-Fi as your smartphone? You can only send a recipe if it is: The Wi-Fi to which the machine is connected is shown in the settings menu of the machine under the menu item Wi-Fi.

  • It's often something simple. Check the following:
    1. Is the Wi-Fi working at all, for example, is the smartphone connected? Make sure that the Wi-Fi is within reach.
    2. Has the Wi-Fi password changed?
    If the problem persists, our Qbo Customer Service will be happy to help.

  • Everyone has a bad day now and again. Even coffee machines. If your Qbo Machine comes out with: "Capsule not recognized", you can't brew coffee or start the cleaning process with the capsule you've inserted. But it usually has a good reason for behaving this way:
    • The capsule has been incorrectly inserted.
    • The capsule recognition is dirty.
    • The code on the base of the capsule is damaged.
    • You have not used an original Qbo Capsule.

  • When the red light on the care menu comes on, your YOU-RISTA is telling you that its care status needs to be checked. If you press the care button that is illuminated red, your YOU-RISTA will automatically take you to the menu item that shows what care step you should carry out. If several steps are required, they will be displayed one after another in order of urgency.
  • It's easy. You switch your YOU-RISTA on by opening the lever or pressing the rotary knob. To switch it off, press on the settings menu key and then confirm the first menu item, "Turn off " with the rotary knob.
  • The milk froth doesn't come out of my MILK MASTER. What should I do?
    Answer:
    If it was a car, you'd check that the tank wasn't empty first. We're sure you've already done this, so you should check for other reasons:
    1. The MILK MASTER's pipes could be blocked with milk deposits. Clean your MILK MASTER thoroughly by hand to remove the blockages.
    2. Parts of your MILK MASTER could have been incorrectly assembled. Make sure that all valves of the round, blue silicone cover look in the same direction and are not twisted.
    3. Pipes inside your YOU-RISTA could be blocked with limescale.

    If the problem persists, contact our Qbo Customer Service.

  • Your trusted barista would probably offer this tip: Warm the cup first. This will maintain the temperature for longer and will also allow the aromas of the coffee to develop fully. At Qbo, we have another tip: Descale your machine regularly. A drop in the temperature of your coffee is a sign that limescale deposits are building up on the boiler of your Qbo Machine.

  • After coffee preparation, a small quantity of left-over water collects in the drip tray of your YOU-RISTA. This water is used to cool the system during drinks preparation. If an unusually large quantity of water collects in the drip tray, please contact our Qbo Customer Service.
  • A downturn in the quality of the milk froth or heavy splashing can have several reasons:
    1. The milk you're using could be too warm. The best temperature for outstanding milk froth quality is below 7° C. Try again with well chilled milk.
    2. The MILK MASTER is places in an oblique position on the drip grid. Make sure it stands evenly on the drip grid – parallel to the machine.
    3. The MILK MASTER's pipes could be blocked with milk deposits. Clean your MILK MASTER thoroughly by hand to remove the blockages.
    4. Parts of your MILK MASTER could have been incorrectly assembled. Make sure that all parts are in the right place, that you press the silicone casing firmly on the adapter, and that the MILK MASTER clicks when you connect it with the machine.
    5. Pipes inside your YOU-RISTA could be blocked with limescale.

    If the problem persists, contact our Qbo Customer Service.

  • If you don't actually want cold froth, we don't want your coffee to be cold, of course. Just check the following:
    1. Is your machine running with the latest firmware?
    2. The Milk Master's pipes could be blocked with milk deposits. Clean your Milk Master thoroughly by hand to remove the blockages.
    3. Parts of your Milk Master could have been incorrectly assembled.
    4. Pipes inside your You-Rista could be blocked with limescale.

    If the problem persists, contact our Qbo Customer Service.

  • Electromagnetic radiation around the appliance can cause interference. If your Qbo is not working properly any more or won't switch on, unplug it from the socket and wait a few seconds. Plug the machine back into the mains and press the rotary knob to switch the machine on.

  • Before, during and after drinks preparation, small quantities of water are passed into the drip tray. This ensures that the machine only ever uses fresh water from the water tank to brew your coffee. Water is also passed internally into the drip tray to cool the boiler to allow the machine to work at different temperatures (milk froth / coffee).
